I've seen this several times, and actually own it. I don't buy many movies these days, so obviously I like it a lot. The story line is compelling, the dialogue and actors are excellent, and overall, I just think it's a superb film. I was looking around for some information on it, and came across this free version on YouTube, so I wanted to share it in case y'all haven't seen the movie yet.

Here's the plot summary, from imdb. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978759/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

The acting is really superb. If you watch it, you'll see people you recognize from elsewhere. The oldest boy from The Middle is in it. I like him on The Middle (although I haven't seen the show in quite a while), and he plays a good part in this movie, too. Melissa Leo is phenomenal, and doesn't wear makeup, which is nice in this day and age, since so many think false eyelashes and stage makeup are appropriate for everyday wear. It can be a little bit of a tearjerker if you have a soft heart, because her/their lives are difficult, but it's definitely a great watch.

Great, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I choose what to watch depending on my current mood, or on where I'd like to take my mood. If I'm feeling down, I might watch a comedy, but I have to be careful, because not all comedies are the same, and some of the more slapstick type ones just end up irritating me. Sometimes I want to see a more realistic approach to life, and Frozen River definitely gives that, with a noir edge. Since I'm struggling financially, I can relate to some of what she's going through, but what I find uplifting is that no matter what she goes through, she's a good person, and does what she has to do to keep going for herself and her children.
