I walked into this movie blind, due to being ambushed by my best friend and distracted by a man eating cockroach, but I’m sure glad I did because not knowing what to expect turned out better than expected!
I Am Number Four is about a teenage boy (or should I say alien?) who’s spent his life on the run from a group of disgusting and hardcore alien hunters who are trying to erase his race.
We know this kid as John, his alias in the town he’s forced to move to because his leg lit up in the middle of the beach (exposing his identity).
He’s one of nine (now six) aliens who are supposed to somehow save their race. Each of them has a “legacy” which are powers given to them from their parents, and each of them has (or had in some cases) a warrior who’s their guardian on earth, there to protect them.
Anyway when we meet this kid he’s trying to settle into this new town when he gets his legacy. It’s kinda like hitting puberty and he has to learn to control his new found abilities. He also falls in love, which is also like puberty, and ends up dragging the love of his life and nerdy friend along for a wild ride and battle fighting the nasty aliens after him.
Certainly a great movie, would definitely recommend it and I hope there’s a sequel coming!!
